The aerial maze is a collective playground operated on three superimposed nets. Each of these nets will have a surface of 3,600 square feet. The game will be a quest to find one exit to access the second level. In the maze, participants will have to move on their knees. The activity may be held in free form or with non-playing characters and hosts. The second scenario will be played as a team and will be combined with the Psychomotor Circuit. The overlapping nets and fittings were subjected for analysis to Mr. Dany Fillion, in charge of the production of security nets at «Cirque du Soleil», from 1997 to 2007. Mr. Filion qualifies this invention as a world premiere.

Finally, another feature that will contribute to the popularity of the Coliseum is its architectural lighting that can also be operated at night. This is made possible by the invaluable cooperation of SOLOTECH Quebec. A portion of the lighting concept will give the impression that the maze levitates!

The challenge is proposed as a friendly competition, involving participants' multiple skills and their ingenuity to overcome the various obstacles. For each of the challenges won, the captain of the team may move their team forward.

Finally, the circuit proposed meets the objectives of the Ministère de l'Éducation du Quebec (Physical education and health; interactions and to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle). For younger children, it will be a great opportunity to develop motor skills and coordinating movements while having fun!

THE GREAT SCOTTISH MELLEE:

Target markets: Family leisure tourism, business tourism, tour organizers and schools.
Operations: Three seasons out of four
Day and evening
Capacity: 30 to 200 participants (limited on budget)
Duration / Packages: 1 hour
Entertainment: Outside and inside the Coliseum
Particularity: Each participant has one hit point

To do this third activity, the team at Coliseum Concept can rely on the experience of its founder, Mr. Christian Déry, who has been working in event management for over twenty one years. In addition, the proposed activity is bonified by the participation of the MEDIEVAL ASSOCIATION OF QUEBEC (QMA). M. Erick Genest and Mr. Jean-Sebastien Drapeau collaborated on the design of this activity.

Participants are invited to take part in one of two opposing clans. Each clan is divided into four battalions, which play a very important role in the Great Scottish Melee.

The Training Camp

In order to get the best out of the game and enjoy this unique experience, our officers (entertainers trained by the QMA) will provide training specific to their battalion. In a safe environment, players will friendly compete in a unique atmosphere, worthy of the great epic battles of the past.

Bataillons : Équipements :
I. INFANTRY Swords and shields
II. HALBERDIERS Halberds
III. ARCHERS Bows and arrows
THE INFANTRY

Lessons on the art of swordplay and shield will first be offered to participants. So initially, they will be trained by a fencing master in order to enjoy the activity.

This combat unit will not only protect the fortress, but may also take possession of it during the assault.

Participants will have the opportunity to live a surprising and rewarding team experience. They will understand why they say this on the battlefield:

« Together we are strong, Alone we are dead! »

HALBERDIERS

This combat unit will consist of brave fighters ready to sacrifice their only hit point to protect the archers. The unit will keep the attackers at bay or it will defend the clan's ground fervently while using a special weapon, a halberd.

The use of this pole arm is an art. Thus, the apprentices will be trained by the Chief Halberdier. He will allow the unit to be strong and the participants will develop a better strategic control of their weapon.

ARCHERS

Archery, a great English discovery, revolutionized its time in the strategic art of war. Archers can push their opponents even before they can get to the battle line.

The activity will have two parts, one theoretical and one practical. Each participant will receive training for the safe use of the bow (similar equipment from the summer camps will be used). The participant will also learn different methods of handlings the bow (control and shooting arrows with ultra-safe foam tips).

THROWN WEAPONS AND SIEGE ENGINES

A sustained training will enable participants to assemble a catapult and a stone wall (fake foam rocks) in 30 minutes, all orchestrated by the engineer (entertainer). When the attack on the Coliseum will take place, each participant will provide an important role in his battalion. The participant will have the chance to get involved in the maneuvers, always under the watchful eye of the chief engineer, so the participant can make catapults and assault turrets at a safe distance from the Coliseum to bring down two fake stone walls.

The ram will also be put to work at the appointed time!
